We had a kids' birthday party on Saturday morning (in fact it seems we have one of these every Saturday morning for the rest of our lives); I actually got to watch a whole game of rugby on TV without being disturbed (much), we had a 40th birthday party with professional cocktail mixers and caterers on Saturday night, we had a lie in on Sunday morning (well, Breda did...) and finally a BBQ on Sunday afternoon hosted by a professional chief.
To top it all off I got to spend a couple of hours in the hospital with Lonan who, while (play) fighting with his brother, managed to smack his face into the sharp corner of the TV stand.
We had a bit of a nasty moment when he was screaming with blood pouring from the corner of his eye but I managed to pry his eye open and was relieved to see it was white and unharmed. He did get a nice little cut right next to it and this required some butterfly stitches to hold it together. (Note that Gitta has been similarly medically treated).
Although the boys were only playfighting at the time they are increasingly doing the real thing and some days all they seem to do is batter each other.
Having finished Dawkins' book on atheism, Ava has now moved onto family psychology. (I swear she picked this herself from our bookshelf).
