Good god, has it really been four years already? Four years since these three little bundles of joy erupted onto the scene and blithely removed our youth, energy and ability to sleep through the night? Oh, and disposable income too, while we're talking of things which have gone missing lately.
And what have they given in return, pray tell? Love? Laughter? Happiness? Well, yes, all that - along with fear, worry and guilt, guilt, guilt (note that financial recompense doesn't figure in here at all...).
All in all though, it's been a pretty good four years. In fact I don't think it'd be stretching the point at all to say I'm pretty sure it's been the best four years of the kids' lives. Not that the ungrateful buggers appreciate that, but, happily, we live in an age of digital cameras which enables me to take many, many photos of them smiling and laughing - which I can later show to them as teenagers when they complain we never did anything for them. Hah! They may be growing up but they'll need to get up a bit earlier in the morning to catch me out! (Actually scratch that; I don't actually want them getting up any earlier..).
But enough from me. Feast you eyes instead on the following pictures of small children joyfully whisked away from everybody and forced to celebrate their birthday in a small and dingy caravan out the back of some cheap campsite. Ah, happy times.
