Calling the Home of the Brave

Quick now, while this bloody thing is working (honestly, I'm thinking of giving this up I'm having so much trouble getting in here to post. Is it really worth the stress?), I need some help.

No, actually, let me quantify that - I need some HELP!

That's right, the world (well, our world, but let's not be picky) is in trouble and, as always in these situations, there is only one place to look for help - America!

I'm actually taking a bit of a long shot that any of the (lovely) Americans who used to pop in here are still about (what with me never posting and all...), but maybe I'll get lucky, or maybe someone out there will know of a friendly American who can come to our rescue(?)

It's Gitta-Gitta you see. He's getting old and worn so that we hardly dare wash him anymore. And yet Lonan - bless his little heart - remains as attached as ever to him. In fact just tonight I have overheard the boys (who are supposed to be sleeping...) playing with Gitta and Lonan saying how much he loooves him.

Unfortunately the whole world appears to be out of Gitta-Gitta's. The whole world? No wait, one small country still holds out against the tyranny of a Gittaless world. Who else but those adorable Americans?

Right, here's the rub. I can order a Gitta from the USA online at a not-unreasonable US$25.00 (I'll pay that to make my littlest boy smile...), but, BUT they want to charge me almost US$200 to ship it here! It's a bloody cloth hand puppet not a bloody golden anvil!

So what I need is a nice trustworthy American who can buy me a Gitta and ship it over at something less than the gross national product of a small country. I will, of course, reimburse said nice American and - as an added bonus - think groovy thoughts about them as well.

Come now, is there no one who will step up to this challenge? Is there no one who will defend the honour (oh all right, honor - see how hard I'm trying...) of the rapidly-going-extinct-but-nonetheless-still-majestic Bald Eagle?

For the hero who can step up to the plate* I will provide full details of where and - importantly - which** Gitta-Gitta I refer to.

*Note the casual baseball-playing-type reference. I really am trying...

**Yes, there has been another version of Gitta-Gitta released by Baby Einstein - however this is nothing but a cheap impostor and we will not sully these pages by discussing him further.

Help me America. You are my only hope.

Hi Kay

The correct Gitta is on American Amazon here -

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001S3NUWS/ref=asc_df_B001S3NUWS1052920?smid=A35U3LK5CFV7YH&tag=nextag-toys-mp01-delta-20&linkCode=asn&creative=380341&creativeASIN=B001S3NUWS

Price is fine but when I go to buy it the postage is just silly. I could buy and ship to your address and you could forward to me if that works.

We could work it out via my personal email which is trukuc(insert '@' here)yahoo.co.uk (I'm going to have to update that to an Aussie email soon so I guess if the spammers get it from here it's no biggie.

Many thanks for your offer of help - may a thousand lovely things happen to you before breakfast (although, to be honest, that sounds a bit exhausting to me...)

Can I suggest you buy more than one Gitta Gitta while you have the chance. My 9yr old is on the 3rd incarnation of her 'Acey'. The original was given to her at 3 months old and while she now absolutely understands that Acey has been reincarnated, she still would be very sad if he fell apart.

Also, if you're struggling with Blogger, why don't you get your own domain name and do a quick and easy install of Wordpress. Then you can also have whatever email addresses you like on your own domain.

Were you able to get the beloved? I have 19 month old triplets (tell me it gets a little easier... please???). If not, please let me know, I would be happy to ship one/several to you.

Thanks!
